October 15th, 2011: Within 6 months of knowing each other, Nate and Lauren initiated a plan to travel around the world together. After 4-months of adventures ranging from climbing Machu Piccu to volunteering at an orphanage in Tanzania to eating their way through Italy and France – they decided to commit to a life of never-ending adventures. Nate surprised Lauren with a proposal on a sailboat at sunset in Santorini, Greece. Timeless!
They both felt like their wedding day was the best day of their lives. They actually thought about saving money and potential stress by eloping. After a weekend of amazing memories with all of their favorite people on the planet in one space, they were very glad they chose to celebrate in style. Their theme was a home-grown, do it yourself, with a sweet charming whimsical wine country vibe. Inspired by harvest time they put together a fantastic grape stomping party the morning of their wedding day. A beautiful bounty of fall colors, mostly brought to life with flowers and pumpkins from local farming friends. A wishing tree (guests made their own personal wishes on tags and hung them on a tree near the wedding site), hand painted signs, the wine stomp, personal vows, adorable flower girls, a “surprise” ladies’ dance routine to MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This” choreographed by the bride’s cousin, and clothes pin cake toppers (also hand made), the flower arrangements (done by friends and family Also, a fun surprise was a gift left on our pillow at the end of the night- a beautiful guest book full of messages and Polaroid photos from the ceremony and reception. Nate and Lauren enjoyed their honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii
