Country Club – Wedding – Portland Oregon

The weather couldn’t have been better for Chelsea and Andrew at Waverley Country Club on July 23rd, 2011.  They sky was deep blue and bursts of sun beamed through the massive trees at this lovely private club.  250 guests gathered together to witness Chelsea and Andrew share their vows under a beautiful oak tree in the back of the clubhouse right before sunset.  Chelsea and Andrew are super relaxed and full of gracious energy.  Their love for life, each other, and their friends and family puts everyone and everything at ease. The day couldn’t have flowed more smoothly, especially with the creative and innovative support of  Nora Sheils with Bridal Bliss {blog}.  No wonder Chelsea and Andrew chose Nora as their planner, she brought the perfect touch of elegance and fun.  Just being around her amazing smile is seriously contagious.

Here’s what Nora had to say.  “Chelsea & Andrew are a truly phenomenal couple.  They are kind, loving and have amazing family values.  The goal throughout planning was to have a memorable event but at the same time design the wedding to feel personal and intimate.  That is not easy to do with 300+ people but this couple certainly achieved it.  All meeting were attended by Chelsea, sometimes Andrew and at least a few family members.  Her darling grandpa attended a dress fitting, her father was incredibly detail-oriented and even decided at the last minute to assign tables, her brother threw in a few suggestions and her mom was ALWAYS smiling.  I absolutely loved getting to know all of them and enjoyed all they brought to the table.

Chelsea & Andrew wanted to incorporate a simple monogram into their décor.  You can see it highlighted on her custom bouquet ribbon, gracing the beginning of the aisle, on all of the custom paper chargers, on the photo booth print outs, front and center on the cake, and on the cookie favors.  The design element was not too over the top but gracefully infused in all the little, but important details.

The day went off without a hitch, everything flowed effortlessly and there were no major hiccups to worry about.  The couple was calm, cool and collected and even the weather worked in our favor.

After getting to know this wonderful family, one of my favorite images I’ve seen so far is of Hutch (Chelsea’s dad), watching as his daughter enjoyed herself on the dance floor with her new husband.  Amazing. I was thrilled to be a part of this special event and thrilled work with such wonderful people.”
