September 4th, 2011: You really never know what the future holds. Samantha met Devin on a trip to Portland visiting her childhood best friend. To Devin’s surprise, his best friend was dating his future wife’s best friend! Devin treats every day as another paragraph of the love letter of his life with Sam. Disguised as a birthday surprise, Devin took Samantha and her friends on a wine tour through the Willamette Valley and proposed to Sam. Their wedding was graced by a sunny and warm Autumn day in Portland, Oregon with 16 attendants and 160 guests. Metallic colors of gold, bronze, silver, and copper supported their modern themes with an Indie Chic touch. Checkout the lovely 1930s necklace from a vintage boutique shop in Paris Samantha wears so elegantly! And to bring it everything full circle photos of the bride’s & groom’s families’ past weddings were projected during the prelude of the ceremony. Something really fun was how Sam and Devin used photos from their lifestyle shoot with JOS and made “custom photo throw pillows” used in the lounge areas made by the groom’s mother! The wedding day highlighted the uniqueness of Portland, Oregon– from the homemade microbrew to the venue in the Pearl. Beautiful lush white flowers everywhere. Champagne cake with fresh local raspberries and jewels. AND to top it off an aerial artist suspended from the ceiling poured champagne into guests’ glasses as she contorted upside-down. And top the evening off, Samantha surprised Devin with an artist to make an oil painting of the evening! Wow!
