August 13th, 2011: Jane playing Paul Simon’s album Graceland while getting ready perfectly reflects her life journey with Derrick. Everyone who witnessed their vows knows what I’m taking about when I say, “their vows moved with immortal beloved…” The way Derrick thanked Jane for supporting him through his greatest and weakest times in life (image #26 below). Jane’s bright eyes and graceful presence! A stunning wedding backdrop with Mt. Hood glowing during their ceremony was like a metaphor to the strength of their commitment, a beautiful mountain of courage! The day couldn’t’ have been more lovely at one of the best wedding venues in the Columbia River Gorge, Gorge Crest Vineyards, with blue skies, the vast backdrop of Mt. Hood, warm summer sun, a gentle breeze, all surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends. Their details reflected simple elegance. 1930′s Art Deco jewelry with quartz and sterling earrings and necklace from Yed Omi from Citrine in Portland, and crystal hair clip from Gilt on NW 23rd in Portland. Jane felt this hair clip was such a great find and went with the age and style of her engagement ring and band which she purchased separately from Antoinette’s Antique and Estate Jewelry. The red Schwinn bike beauty was found right in downtown Hood River at Mountain View Cycle & Fitness. A touch of wild lavender, wine corks with guest names, pesto on salmon, baskets filled with local flowers, memories for a lifetime. Northwest weddings during this time of year are lovely.
